Super Pet FerreTrail Fun-nels, Tee Tube, Colors Vary

I love Guinea Pigs and have kept them for over ten years, and during that time we’ve purchased many Super Pet products. This product is supposed to be designed for ferrets, guinea pigs, chinchillas and rats. We decided recently to buy a couple more of these Fun-nel Tee tubes for our new piggy, but when they arrived we noticed that the product had changed.

They are still easy to use and easy to clean but the general quality of the product is not as good as it used to be.

Before, the Fun-nel tubes were made out of hard plastic so they could take years of gnawing from our pets. Now the product is made using a much softer plastic. 48 hours after introducing the new tube to our guinea pig he’d managed to gnaw away over half of the “easy snap-on fasteners” at the end. The tube is no longer in the cage as I’m concerned about how much plastic my guinea pig has swallowed.

I have e-mailed Super Pet with this information but no response so far.

I’m still a fan of Super Pet products and this item is wonderful for animals that do not gnaw, even thought the quality is not what it used to be. But please do not purchase one if you have a gnawing animal such as a guinea pig.
